Court Contender

73R07739      SRS Index 340

We were fortunate to have a chance to buy this ram in 2011. Son of the New Zealand ram Bilberry Oak Supreme out of an Owslebury Rapier daughter he combines high NZ growth with the superior fleshing of his dam's side. Has produced consistently high performing progeny over the years. At or near the top of the stock sires list in the sire reference scheme since first used.

Kelsey Gryphon

18U08264      SRS Index 285

A son of Yarcombe Erroll by a Kelsey ewe whose pedigree goes back to Pode Hole Victor. Gryphon is a very correct, tight skinned ram with an exceptional loin and gigots. He is in the top 1% of the breed for muscle depth (+4.28mm) and gigot muscularity (+8.52mm). He has left us some very good daughters. Some of his best sons with exceptional carcase quality attracted good bids from commercial farmers at Kelso.

Kelsey Hero

18U09346      SRS Index 341

Another son of Yarcombe Erroll, Hero has grown into a big ram with tremendous stretch and scale. Great EBVs for growth. On his dam’s side his pedigree goes back to Parkstock Rambo and before that to embryos imported from New Zealand. We have a limited amount of semen for sale from this ram.

Kelsey I-Muscle

18U106447      SRS Index 300

A son of Kelsey Gryphon, on his dam’s side he goes back to Shapwick Harry Formidable. The heaviest ram lamb at 8 weeks (39.9kgs) we have ever bred. On farm recording and CT scanning produced the highest EBVs so far for a Hampshire ram for muscle depth (+5.62mm) and gigot muscularity (+10.13mm).

Kelsey Juggernaut

18U1100019     SRS Index 331

Best son so far of Kelsey Hero from a daughter of Kelsey Duke the leading SRS ram of 2005. He showed very good growth raised on milk and grass only. Has his father's size, strength and style.

 Kelsey Jeroboam

18U1100030     SRS Index 363

Sired by Pode Hole I-Spy out of a Yarcombe Erroll daughter. Born a triplet raised a twin he did oustandingly well on milk and grass only and was our best ram lamb for carcase quality at CT scanning. As a result the highest index ram across the breed in 2011. His NZ style may not suit the traditionalists!
